Healing That Goes Beyond The Surface

Navigating through trauma and PTSD therapy can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. My approach to trauma therapy online and in Ohio is designed to go beyond managing symptoms, getting to the heart of what’s holding you back. Together, we’ll gently address the layers of trauma and anxiety that have impacted your life, working through the root causes so you can experience lasting peace and clarity.

In-Person and Online PTSD Treatment

Evidence-Based Therapy
for PTSD and Anxiety

Trauma treatment in my practice centers around proven therapies that are flexible enough to meet each client’s needs. These techniques are designed to promote deep healing and lasting change, including:

CBT

A core part of both in-person and online therapy for anxiety is CBT. CBT teaches individuals to identify and reshape thoughts that might be perpetuating their trauma or anxiety. This therapy is highly effective for managing generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder. CBT is short-term and goal-focused, with clients often seeing significant improvement in 8–20 sessions. Think of CBT as a toolkit, helping you handle challenges in everyday life more effectively.

CPT

For in-person and online therapy for PTSD, CPT is designed to help you shift the unhelpful thoughts and beliefs tied to trauma. In Cognitive Processing Therapy, we’ll work together to gently reframe these memories and find relief from symptoms.

PE

PE therapy is another core approach in both in-person and online therapy for PTSD and trauma. Prolonged Exposure Therapy helps individuals gradually confront trauma-related fears, allowing the brain and body to heal from what once felt unbearable.

These approaches emphasize empowerment through action—just like a course of antibiotics works best when taken as prescribed, these therapies work best when you engage fully. Every step you take helps reinforce the tools and insights needed for long-term healing. After completing any of these treatments, some clients choose to work on additional goals to further their healing and growth and/or do occasional check-ins.

Moving Forward with
Confidence and Peace

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when it comes to deeply rooted issues like trauma and anxiety. But you don’t have to do this alone. My goal as a PTSD specialist and trauma psychotherapist is to help you regain control, confidence, and a renewed sense of peace.

For many, the journey to healing may involve unlearning unhelpful thought patterns, practicing new skills, and learning to feel comfortable in your own skin again. By addressing the core of what troubles you, our work will empower you to move forward with a sense of ease and stability, restoring hope for a future beyond the effects of trauma.

Therapy Designed to Address the Core of Your Trauma and Anxiety

Whether you’re seeking a Ohio therapist specializing in trauma or looking for online therapy for PTSD, each client’s treatment plan is uniquely developed.

As a licensed trauma specialist, my therapeutic style is collaborative, empathetic, and transparent. Here’s how we can work together:

Every healing journey begins with a comprehensive evaluation to understand your specific challenges, goals, and strengths. This assessment guides our approach to treatment and ensures that we create a plan that works for you.

Using evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), we’ll focus on processing and releasing trauma at its core. This approach helps alleviate symptoms while restoring your capacity for joy.

My anxiety-focused therapies incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a trusted method for managing persistent worry, panic attacks, and social discomfort. This structured approach provides tools to help you manage anxiety effectively, empowering you to regain control in situations that previously felt overwhelming.

02

Our first session is a thorough evaluation that allows me to understand your history, challenges, and what you’re hoping to gain from therapy.

FAQs

The only insurance I currently accept is Medical Mutual for Ohio based clients.

Unfortunately, insurance companies often dictate session length, number, frequency, and so forth in therapy. Also, the confidentiality and privacy of your personal information is not guaranteed with insurance companies. I want to focus on providing the care you need, rather being restricted to what insurance approves. This approach allows us to better help you meet your specific treatment goals.

You are welcome to contact your insurance company to find out whether you have out-of-network benefits for mental health treatment/how much you may be reimbursed before accessing services. If you find out that you do and you choose to use them, I can provide a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

Some companies like Mentaya, Reimbursify, and Thrizer assist individuals with the process of submitting out of network claims to insurance for possible reimbursement for part of the cost of therapy.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice or no show, you will be charged the full session fee.

Yes! I am able to offer CPT, PE, and CBT therapy online for 40+ states through PSYPACT. You can see if your state is eligible here
Online therapy can be just as effective and in-person therapy, so I encourage you to consider this option, especially if you’re looking to work with a PTSD specialist.

I am not licensed to prescribe medication. I can provide referrals to those in Ohio who are licensed to prescribe.

CBT, CPT, and PE are all evidence-based therapies, but they focus on different parts of the healing process.

CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It is often used for anxiety, panic, social anxiety, and other concerns where worry, fear, or avoidance are getting in the way of daily life.

CPT, or Cognitive Processing Therapy, is a structured therapy for PTSD. It focuses on the beliefs that can develop after trauma, such as self-blame, guilt, shame, or feeling like the world is no longer safe. CPT helps you examine those beliefs and develop a more balanced way of understanding what happened.

PE, or Prolonged Exposure Therapy, is also a structured therapy for PTSD. It helps reduce trauma-related fear and avoidance by gradually and safely approaching trauma memories and situations that have started to feel dangerous, even when they are not.

Feel free to reach out for a free cognitive processing therapy consultation in ohio or online.

There is not one “best” therapy for every person with PTSD. The right fit depends on your symptoms, goals, history, and what feels most appropriate for your treatment. That said, I only used evidence-based treatment models, meaning we are actively working towards lasting change for you in our therapy both in-person if you’re in Ohio or online.

Online therapy is very similar to in-person therapy, but you meet from a private space using a secure video platform. Before your first session, you’ll receive the information you need to log in and prepare.

During online therapy, we will talk through what you have been experiencing, set goals, and use the same evidence-based approaches that are used in person.

It can help to choose a quiet, private place where you feel comfortable, have a reliable internet connection, and can speak freely. Many clients find that online therapy makes it easier to begin because they can receive care from a familiar environment.

Yes, online therapy can be effective for PTSD when it is clinically appropriate and provided by a trained therapist. Many evidence-based PTSD treatments, including CPT and PE, can be delivered through telehealth.
